Ötztal is an El Dorado for climbing, it has no equal in the whole of Tyrol. 7 via ferratas and 19 climbing crags with around 600 routes offer a favourite route for everyone. Thanks to the perfect infrastructure the vertical climbing action is almost unlimited in Ötztal's climbing paradise. The climbing area is characterised by rough granite rock and offers climbers of all levels a perfect terrain.

Zirbenwald via ferrata (length: 400m, altitude difference of 100 metres)
The access to this family-friendly via ferrata can be reached via a suspension bridge that challenges both your courage and your skills. Most sections of this route are categorised as Level B, the more difficult Level C passages require climbing experience. The Schwärzenkämm via ferrata leads directly through Obergurgl's glacier world and offers gorgeous views over the mountain scenery. It is facing north and requires quite some experience. The passages vary between Level A-B and C-D. In order to get to the access take a 2.5 hour hike from Obergurgl up to Langtalereck hut and continue towards Hochwilde Haus, from where a ca. 20 minutes sign-posted walk will take you to the via ferrata's starting point.
