Mountain biking in Obergurgl

If you want to explore the back of Ötztal on your mountain bike, find a challenging terrain at your feet – everything you would expect from a high alpine region. Rocky dirt tracks, gravel paths and single trails combined with unique panoramic views make every biker's heart leap for joy.
Bike tours in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl
Langtalereckhütte hut (1.4hrs, altitude difference of 560 metres)
One of the region's most popular tours leads you up to Ötztal's glacier world and to Langtalereckhütte. The starting point is in Obergurgl from where a steep ascent on this 7 kilometre long trail will both require strength and stamina.
Timmelsjoch (2hrs, altitude difference of 990 metres)
Located at 2,474 meters Timmelsjoch is one of the Alps' highest mountain passes. The trail leads you to the top of the pass; this asphalt path is also suitable for road bikes.
Festkogl (1.45hrs, altitude difference of 990 metres)
Start in Obergurgl and walk to the Schönwies and Langtalereck huts, afterwards take the trail to Festkogl. After the steep ascent you will be rewarded with a stunning panorama. At the tour's highest point at 2,680m this hike is topped off with views over the surrounding 3,000m mountains.
Gurgler Achweg (1hr, altitude difference of 130 metres)
In comparison to the others, this is a rather comfortable and family-friendly tour, it leads through meadows and on gravel paths between Obergurgl and Pill.
Hochgurgl – Wurmkogl (3.3hrs, altitude difference of 1,210 metres)
As a mountain biker follow Timmelsjoch pass road from Pill to the toll plaza (asphalted path) and continue on the gravel path. Along the way you can enjoy wonderful breaks at Top Mountain Star, which sits enthroned on the ridge on top of the mountain and provides a gorgeous mountain panorama in all directions.
